Dear mom,
What an adventure these two last weeks have been. First off, thank you for taking the time to email me at all hours to keep me posted about the kids. You know it is appreciated but still it is important for me to tell you again. The kids are always excited to chat on the phone every night and I feel alot less far from them when I hear their little voices answering me when I call.
Today we went horseback riding, in our group of six, five had never gone on a horse before. You should have seen me all stressed out when I 1st saw the horses. Oh my goodness, they were HUGE!!! Well.... ok, once I did sit on one I felt not as afraid but I think everyone got a good laugh seeing me so scared. We followed a trail for one hour and just had a blast. I can't wait to hop on a horse again, the feeling is just the most amazing. Sure, I am a tad sore but nothing that makes me regret trying this new adventure. I will always remember Nova Scotia as my 1st time riding a horse. Actually we are trying to plan when we will be riding again. LOL! So if we ever come back to this area, Isner's Stables is the place to go. When we got there we weren't sure but the friendly family that lives there sure made us feel welcomed. My horse was a gorgeous spotless white one named June. She was amazing and I had fun riding her. Oh dear, I could go on and on about horseback riding. I'm hooked!!!
Now for the best part of my weekend, yesterday, Carl and I went to the
While we were working in the Halifax area we were staying in Dartmouth, be sure to stop by the Country Inn if you visit the area. We spent 11 nights here and from night 1 we have had a blast. The employees have made sure our stay was a great one even though we were here for work. A special thanks to Amy and Ashly for their time and friendly chats almost daily!
more later,
hugs! :)
Off I go for the next 3 weeks... It is bittersweet! This morning we woke up the kids to see them a bit before leaving. Carl started to have tears in his eyes and I just lost it, I will miss the kids SO much! Oye!
So I have a laptop, a book, two magazines (including the latest IK!), dvd's to watch, cd's to listen to keep me busy!
hugs,

Last night both kids received new dinnerware for while we are away, Zoe received my little pony set and Lucas a Spiderman set, they both insisted to eat dessert on their new plates. Lucas received from daddy a Caillou doll and Zoe Carebear themed dominos. Oh my goodness, she flipped over those! LOL! So both kids with grandma played a few games of dominos and had a blast. The kids don't often play table/board games but this one sure was a hit. ![]()
I have been searching high and low for a slipper pattern I like, I won't knit felted kind on the road as felting them at the laundromat just wouldn't be very practical. Luckily a friend has just the pattern I needed and we were faxing out at midnight. LOL! With our 10 hour drive tomorrow I should be quite advance on my slipper knitting.
Last little note, I got a laptop!!! :) So I 'should' be able to post over the next 3 weeks, if not oh well... Hopefully some hotel rooms will provide internet access. LOL! I now get to bring all my saved patterns with me and playing solitary can keep you busy when bored. LOL!
hugs,
p/s: If I can log on from the maritimes, my entries might take a turn and become letters I write to people I love. I really like that kind of format that I start noticing on other blogs.
We are home for four long days before leaving our family for three weeks!!! So Zoe will be celebrating her birthday this weekend even though her birthday is the next one. At the daycare tomorrow a clown will come visit the kids and I just know how Zoe will love it. We will make this a party all weekend kinda thing. A friend from work talked about how he was coming home the night before everyone else is leaving. The ride by car is 10 hours plus all the stops people in a car make. Instead of leaving the friday morning and wasting a day on the road, we shall leave on the thursday night by bus and sleep through the ride home and be here friday morning as the others from work start their trip back home. You have NO idea how happy I am about this new plan. Our boss already knows that we will travel by bus and he will make sure we get a ride to the bus stop in time for our bus. Yes I know it's not a lot more time home but it's a day more with the kids and I am sure we will all appreciate that! :)
Last night as we were riding in our truck for the five hours to get home, I learn how to make starts using straws! It is pretty easy even though I'm still new at this. My 'teacher' said I caught on quite quickly too. LOL! I need to go to the Chinatown today and get more of these folding straws. Hopefully these will keep me busy while traveling and away from home. I try knitting but have lost a bit of interest in it. Most likely because summer is coming along and that I don't really knit much for myself. I do hope we will find the time to stop by a few yarn stores in the maritimes.
Time for pancakes! :)

I just joined the Acrylics Anonymous ring created by Daria Knits, how fitting after buying 19 balls of acrylic last night! LOL! Sure some are yarn snobs, I simply can't afford to be and YES! I do enjoy knitting with acrylic yarns.
hugs,
Well I am now able to sleep in a moving vehicule and enjoy it greatly. It makes time pass so quickly when I'm snoozing, so evidently I haven't knitted this week as sleeping kept me busy. LOL!
Today went shopping and there was a special on yarn at Walmart (yes, I keep on shopping there!) I bought 20 balls of yarn at a dollar each. Some were priced at more than 4$ before the sale. Of course, I have no clue what to knit but at least I've got yarn. ;) Also bought myself some new pants for work, one of the 2 pairs I bought last weekend got a whole in them. UGH! How sad is that, after only wearing them one day. So we are off to the store and see if they'll stand behind their product or not, these were very costly pants made by Chlorophylle.
Well could this post get anynore boring? Well how about this.... we won't be home for mother's day celebrations and it hit on me hard today. I just started bawling, this work gig has been fun but I'm missing out on mother's day with the kids, Zoe's 5th birthday, father's day and my own birthday. It will be hard to be away from the kids on those occasions. UGH!
Here's a little pick-me-up I'm planning on getting myself though... I think that might help my spirits for a while! LOL! ;)
hugs, enjoy your weekend! :)
We are off for another week of traveling, we are leaving in less than 2 hours for a lovely 6 hour ride in the truck. Lac St-Jean is known as the party part of our whole province, I am curious to see how our evenings will end in the hotel. Also people usually have strong accents in that area, most will probably not talk english. It'll be funny to see non-french workers try to get understood in the area. All I know is that this area is gorgeous and I can't wait to be there. :)
Lucky as can be I bought more DenimStyle yarn last night and it was on sale a dollar less than the original price. I will start on a new bucket hat for Zoe or whomever ends up with it. All I know is I need to knit in the truck to pass some time. As usual I don't really care who I knit for as far as I keep my hands hands busy.
Over the weekend, we went to a huge garage sale event that was spread over 4 streets. We bought a boatload of Disney movies.... well 17 new movies for the kids to entertain themself. LOL! Many are the older classics that I love also, best thing of all, they are all englsih movies. I like that the kids watch english shows and movies, I forget to talk english aroun them but hopefully they will still pick up english. I also splurged on myself and got two new pairs of pants, they are the hiking kind and so comfy. We spend most of our days on our knees counting so comfy pants and shoes are a definite must.
Also we received a huge stack of used clothes from our neighbor, 6 big full bags with like new clothing for Lucas, though many things fit Zoe also. Ever since the kids were born we have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of many clothes donations. We don't buy new clothes much because of all the one we receive. I do splurge for celebrations as I love to see the kids all dressed up. :)
Last thing, I LOVE my job! Have I said it often enough? I do though, the hours we travel are hard but I enjoy the time away so much too. Carl and I get to live as a couple on work days and as a family when we go home. I think it has brought us together and has given us a chance to live as "kids" again. Still I do call the kids every night as I couldn't live without my daily I love you's from them. ;)
So that's me for now. Have a lovely week! :)
