Happy living,

This week I went by Effiloché with Lucas (he was on doctor's orders to stay out of school a few days), I picked up a few old IK issues, an Addi circ I needed to continue my Lucy cardigan and uh..... yarn! Yes, I am in need for a new stash, new yarn inspires me to knit new things, sure I could finish a few work in progress but ack! those are boring. LOL! So the Regia is now awaiting to become Bayerische socks! Have you seen Eunny's new mittens, they are SO beautiful, man how can one be that creative?

Last week I talked to Lucy Neatby while ordering her dvd series, do you know how neat that was? I've been watching the 1st dvd in small doses, it's just too good to watch all at once, so every night I watch a half hour of Lucy while knitting. Just like one enjoys a piece of dark chocolate slowly, I savor each word Lucy speaks in her soft voice. The Sock Techniques 1 dvd is the one I am currently watching, Lucy is soothing in her teaching, she is very knowledgeable and has a great way to make you learn without even knowing it. Peaking from under is the Domino blanket pattern, I just can't get enough of knitting with sock yarn. lol!

Notice the backgrounds in my pictures? The kids new duvet covers are from Ikea. I fell in love with them a few months ago and the kids just got their new beds recently, so I got to buy the duvet + covers. Let me tell you they love sleeping now. LOL! The whole family went to Ikea one evening, we had supper there and relaxed like we hadn't in such a long time. It was such a perfect evening! :)

On the gym front, I am having a blast! My trainer is really fun and I am actually eager to go exercise too. I didn't think I would like it as much, I even saw three moms that I know. We are about to start meeting and sweating together soon. teehee!

Life is good!

A month in a nutshell,

What have I been up too in the last month? Busy, busy, with the kids sick and visiting the pediatrician three times, seeing my own doctor twice yet I was spared from the cold everyone else is having. My school volunteering is going great, I adore my two kindergarden groups and I am always very excited to go for library day. Both kids have received great report cards and Lucas's teacher even said that we were raising a very responsible boy with beautiful values. She actually thanked us for raising such a wonderful boy. That was great to hear!!! :)

So these are my purchases of the last month or so:
1- Austermann Step Sock yarn that has Jojoba and Aloe Vera extract to baby your feet 'apparently' I bought the same colorway as the picture #5 Turf
2- JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk in Mahogany, I couldn't pass up this 'soft like buttah' yarn
3- Zara yarn for my VK cover scarf, already 3 'snakes' are knitted in red
4- S 'n B Calendar which I was very surprised to see while shopping and bought on the spot
5- Knitting pattern-a-day calendar which I enjoy a lot, I regret not getting the 2006 edition
6- Regia Canadian #4737 hat and socks for a neighbour's baby, need to graft toes and weave in ends
7- Odessa hat using Zara yarn and translucent red beads, I am LOVING this pattern, very easy and beautiful to knit!
8- Fiddlesticks Creatures of the Reef Shawl which I can't wait to cast on

Montreal's latest yarn store Effiloché has been seeing me a few times in the last weeks. First I went for just a simple sock project, then I HAD to go back because I had seen a pattern and couldn't get it out of my mind. I'm already organizing my holiday knitting gifts so need yet more yarn. I'm trying to resist going back but... they have really nice yarn and I want to pick up a few old magazines that I didn't get over the last seasons. So if in Montreal, do stop by Effiloché 'cause they even have Fleece Artist yarns and roving!

Next up is my new project, it's called changing your life so it is all good! First stop, the gym, I am SO motivated especially since my heart is about (it's borderline) to give me trouble. So I got me some new shoes that I totally dig, bought sweatpants and boy have I sweated this week but I couldn't feel better.... well I could 'cause this morning I am hurtin' but it is ALL GOOD! The kids are really encouraging me and I want to feel better, have more energy 'cause they deserve a mom in good health!

Still knitting just slow to post so until next time...
