Oh, is that ANOTHER sock?

Spring is finally settling in and I just had to cast on for new socks. Of course, I restarted the stitch pattern twice because I didn't want a lace effet. Then, I noticed that I had knit too much before starting the gusset increase... Oh dear, time for a break, I might as well finish Carl's socks that just need the toes done. lol!

Today, the kids had no school, it's election day for the whole province (we all went to the pre-voting thing, way less people). So to keep them busy we did a few experiences from Steve Spangler Science. If you click on video you will see tons of projects to try out. We did the Ivory Soap Science (even had to buy Ivory!), Quicksand and Lemon Twist, they were all easy breezy to do and we got to quick start Zoe's science fair projects for the week.

Ever since Carl and I went to the Eat Well Expo, healthy eating has been on my mind. Sure we made some food changes while I lost 20lb but I still think we could eat a lot better. At the expo I even tried some tofu that I actually enjoyed. LOL! The high cost of going was over compensated by all the free food we ate there. Actually we saved on eating lunch since we were stuffed by the time we left. Since, we have made our own sprouts this week and are really into baking our own breads so things are slowly changing.

Next up, we'll try the No-Knead bread or one of Breadtopia's recipes. I even stopped by the local library to stock up and some vegetarian books. Now all I need is to contact Ultimate Foodie Jae and I'd be on the right track. We even found a farm that delivers fresh organic produces right to your door, now as a family without a car this is GREAT news!!! The kids are still preparing their own garden in the yard and Zoe is enrolled in a gardening project for the summer so we won't miss out on veggies. By the way, did you know there are some great vegetarian blogs out there?

Oh and one bad thing about my 'fantastic' weight loss... nothing fits me anymore, I mean most of my clothes is simply falling off. Let's just say it's not practical, yet I don't have the means to buy a whole new wardrobe either. Oh the problems I have... LOL!

Earlier today, I saw tons of crochet videos on YouTube and then found this gem of a video. It cracked me up, so now I am sharing it with you all, it's called Knit Wits Enjoy!

Last link for the day, ever had to register on a website just to see an article or something? You can try Bug Me Not from now on if you want.
