Kids just keep on growing
As usual time flies by too quickly for me to sit and post an entry. Luckily knitting is portable so I was able to progress on a few projects.

Last weekend my 'baby' turned 6 years old. He sure has changed over the years, yet he has always kept his same smile and personality. He loves to clean, he loves to laugh, loves to find new ways to use toys that you would never think of. He has brightened my life in so many ways from the day he was born. :)

For his birthday, I knitted him a pair of socks (finally he gets a finished pair!). The 3/4 of the pair was knitted in a two day frame, luckily he got to wear them as soon as they were done. He loves them and requested a second pair as soon as possible. Oh dear...

Right now I am completing the 2nd sock for Zoe, then Carl's birthday is coming up next week. Oh wait, it's been quite a while since I knitted myself a pair of socks too. LOL! Never fear, I always have more projects that I want to knit.
When both kids started school, I expected that I would have more than enough time to knit throughout the day. HA! I am so busy now that I mostly knit at night when the kids are sleeping. Who knew a stay-at-home-mom could be so busy without kids around. LOL! Actually, I go to the gym 3 mornings to meet with a trainer, two afternoons I am at school 'playing' librarian, 1 night I have classes, 1 night is kids sports, saturdays is Zoe's dance class and sundays are kids sports again. There is not one day that I do not have something scheduled, at least I have 3+ hours of scheduled knitting each week. LOL! I may also try to get in a pottery making class in the spring.

My sweater is coming along nicely, I didn't even need to harrass anyone when I stumbled upon a problem. I actually sat down and took the time to READ the pattern, silly thing was that the answer was right there. lol! I wonder if I'll finish the body this weekend! The Ultra Alpaca yarn really makes this sweater fun to knit, I am really glad that I bought this color, love it! :)

Thanks to Shelley at
Funknits, I participated and won a
contest about/for Opal yarn. It's only fitting I heard about it on the blog from the seller I bought my Opal yarn from. ;-) Let's just say that to receive a yarn package is SO much fun especially when it's free. LOL! Many thanks to Trish for ultra fast shipping, I can't wait to start knitting with this new Opal 6-ply yarn. Now my only problem is... shall I knit socks, a hat, mitts? Oye, decisions, decisions. teehee!
Well I am out the door for the day, then gotta run home to babysit a 2yo and try to remember that we do not want another child at this time! LOL!
hugs,

Love the sweater... nice pattern - it is knitted from the top down as i see. I went and did the atelier at Effiloche before Christmas - however didn't finish past the sleeves yet - too much other knitting to finish ah! ah!
All your projects look great Jo!
Congrats on winning the contest. I'm currently knitting my husband socks from the Opal 6 ply, they go really quickly with the thicker yarn.
They do grow fast and the older they get the faster it goes. Those precious days just fly by. Next thing you know, they are driving, working, taller than you and twice as smart.
Still, it's fun, but now their socks take forever to finish and you have to knit for weeks to finish a sleeve!
Thanks for sharing your kids, brings back so many memories.
happy birthday to everyone at jo's house-- wow, that's a lotta birthdays (and a lotta socks!) in such a short time!! xoxo K
