A sweater, really!

I decided that january would be a knit from stash month for me, I did well but was very happy when february started. I bought two sweaters worth of yarn to celebrate. It is niiiice yarn though. LOL! I made a big official swatch with Rowan's Felted Tweed yarn and decided that as a first sweater (that I intend to finish!) using size 4US/3,5mm needles was too small to keep me motivated. So back to see Ginette at Effiloché and with her great help, I got some buttery soft Ultra Alpaca yarn. This swatch was smaller but I started knitting a new sweater right away. The yoke was done with only one ball, gotta love that. Now I keep getting new ideas for sweaters to knit but you know what!? I'm gonna at least finish the first one before casting on anything else. lol!

Just showing off Zoe with her tap shoes, she is loving her new dance classes! I am loving the chance to go downtown once a week. LOL! Hopefully once it gets warmer we'll even have a chance to do some window shopping too. This week while Zoe's dancing, Lucas will be taking a little cake decorating class to bring us a Valentine's day dessert for the family. Gotta love keeping the kids busy, yet getting dessert done at the same time. lol!

Now, I love my kids school but chocolate? ACK! I hate when we have to sell a whole box of choc's to help out with the school's activities. Imagine being stuck with selling 50 bars of chocolate now that both kids are in school. Last year, I simply paid 75$ and bought out the whole box, this year, that is SO not happening. Already I am giving a lot of my time volunteering at school so I am thinking I'll go talk to the principal to say that we will not be selling chocolates this year. Hope it goes over well but Carl and I are both not working at the moment and it's starting to get tough. There's also a birthday coming up and I want to make sure it is extra special for Lucas, so no chocolates it is...

Yes I know that buying yarn, then not wanting to help out the school financially does not add up correctly. I never said that I plan out stuff very well, also I do not want 50 bars of chocolate lying around for me to eat. LOL!

Doesn't seem fair that parents who volunteer should also have to worry about selling/buying all that chocolate! Zoe sure looks grown up in her new dance shoes! Posted by: Brenda at February 7, 2007 08:18 PM

You should bring some of the chocolate to a knitting thing, I'm sure that some of us won't be able to resist... Posted by: K at February 10, 2007 12:32 PM
