In love with a scarf,

Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the Montreal subway system and to celebrate they made it free for everyone to use it! Well now there's a great excuse to get us out of the house. LOL! Lucas got to walk through the turnstiles for the 1st time. He still gets by for free so he usually goes under the things while we have to pay. Today he walked through them with his hands held up high, he was proud!

After we went 'fake' shopping at the Gap with the kids (dang it! Lucas looked so good in their kids leather coat, even two ladies commented about it). Fake shopping is our way to spend a great time without spending too much. The kids get to try out whatever they want without any expectations from us buying for them. It's like playing dress up at the store, fall is great 'cause they can try out plenty of coats without having to go in changing rooms. Shoes are a great favorite of Zoe's too. After all that fun, we splurged them with kids hot chocolates from Starbucks.

Chapters had the latest Vogue Knitting issue and I just love the woven scarf from the cover. I'm trying to figure out what yarn to substitute because Lush yarn gets in my throat when I knit with it and sheds like crazy. I would know, my Clapotis was made from it and it shed each time Zoe wore it last winter.

I've been tempted lately to take out the spinning wheel and try my hand at it again. The worst that can happen is no yarn making, right? I have the time, I have the will, what else do I need? LOL!

p/s: Interweave Knits winter 2006 preview is up!

hugs,

I love that scarf too! (And I should be at the next Sunday meeting! I have a new work schedule and I won't work on Sundays anymore, at least most of the time). :) Posted by: Caroline at October 15, 2006 03:33 PM
You also need chocolate, lots of chocolate, a dog at your feet (so you can blame them for the wonky bits) and plenty of neglected housework, so that the experience is truly decadent irrespective of results! Happy spinning Posted by: KBull at October 17, 2006 06:26 AM
