Back to normal,

Today is Zoe's 1st day back to school, of course she is pretty excited to go see her teacher and class pals again. We are happy to start our old routine again, mostly because I am still home and it's fun to walk her to school.

Here's my latest knitting project, socks! Hopefully I will finish these as they are for Carl, he chose the color and I'm using the Thuja pattern from the latest Knitty issue. The yarn is Tuffy by Briggs & Little, it's similar to those rugged wool socks, I'm all for durable when it comes to handknits. ;)

Last week we finally survived the last of the chicken pox in the household. To celebrate we all went for a game... or three of bowling, what a great activity for a family. We had 2 hours of laughs, fun and great time for under 20$/CAN/US. Lucas finally was back to his true self, he's not a happy camper when sick let me tell ya. LOL! Above you see Zoe's reaction to her 1st strike and Lucas doing his own technique of throwing the ball.

I will add though a big THANK YOU to those who have left me comments in the past few weeks, they truely do, brighten up my days.

Are you using a tubular cast-on for the sock??! ;0) Also glad to see everyone on their feet (or in the air...) Posted by: Deborah at January 11, 2006 02:24 PM
I love my socks made with Briggs and Little wool; I find they get softer with each washing. He's going to love them! Posted by: jacqui583 at January 13, 2006 09:38 AM
Jo - your socks look great. I love that pattern and I've been thinking of knitting them for my father. And the sparkly opal yarn is something my mom picked up at Needles & Pins in London, Ont. a couple of years back. She than passed it on to me so I have blue with sparkles and a black version with sparkles. I have yet to stumble across this yarn in any other yarn store!
