A good book!

I started reading my new book tonight and already I am at chapter 10, that's when I had to get out of the tub. LOL! The Shop on Blossom Street is such a nice read, I just wished I could go shop there. I want to join the new knitters class. I want to meet those people I am reading about. I can't wait to read more!

The chickami is dead, I ran out of yarn, it's too big and I now hate it. So I'll be getting back to my book soon enough. I went to a yarn store and after walking three times around the store touching every single yarn, I left with nothing. I am just not inspired right now to knit so I'm just going to read my new book for a while. I am tempted to start knitting the baby blanket pattern from the book though. LOL!

Also I really like the look of this pinwheel blanket and might join the knit-along. I'm mostly afraid I'd run out of yarn though so not sure what yarn to pick up for this, also it's not like I need a baby blanket either. Although, I have seen this Knitted Patchwork Sampler Afghan or was it the Aran Knit Sampler Afghan on a blog (sadly can't remember whch one, it's not one of my regualr reads to make it harder!) Then there's the fact that I'd love to learn to crochet and try my hand at one of those crochet blankets. Yup! I'm in a blanket mood aka no gauge needed project right now. Ok as I type this I'm checking websites and found this neat freebie: Introduction to Aran Knitting, now I want to learn more about aran knitting, after all my dream is to knit a big gorgeous fisherman's sweater one day. I just wished we could find fisherman's wool locally (just 'cause they come in huge balls and I love the natural color.

Yup! That's what I'll do, start a blanket one block at a time, very protable project and doing a block at a time doesn't seem as scary as starting a whole blanket all at once. Now the yarn.... what should I use? What can I find that would be perfect for a blanket?

hugs,

Glad to hear you're enjoying the book! I was wondering what it was like.... :) Posted by: Rachael at May 12, 2005 01:33 AM
I'm reading it as well. I think the knitting makes the book worth reading for me, but it's a nice, relaxing book. Posted by: Bridget at May 13, 2005 12:52 PM
Thanks for posting about the book...I need a new book to read. Next week I'm supposed to relax (well, after Thursday, if I get home on Thursday) so a book on the newly cleaned balcony would be great recovery reading :-) I'll let you know when I'm home, and I can't promise cake, but I think I can push the button on the coffee maker...both of them... ;-))) (if I see double after this does it mean I should only knit one sock?) bisoux to the hugs girl :-) Posted by: Lee Ann at May 13, 2005 11:24 PM
