Track Santa!

Santa has started his trip across the world, to help you track down where he is now, visit Norad's Tracking Santa website. The website is filled with fun stuff so be sure to check it out yourself or with kids.

Yesterday afternoon, I received my Christmas gift! It wasn't wrapped up in a box, nor did it have a bow on top. After getting the groceries Carl said he had one more thing to do before heading home. We went to the cemetary, he parked the car, got out and told me *I* was having my 1st driving lesson. Oh my goodness! I was like a true kid, I have taken lessons about ten years ago to drive and even had a learner's permit but I wasn't ready at that time. We did about 10 minutes at 30km/h and let me tell you it was fast enough for me! LOL! ;) Carl had me turn many corners and I even backed up and turned, not easy for someone who hasn't drived in 10 years. It was so much fun though and I think I will try to get my learner's permit in 2005 again. With Carl as a teacher it'll be fun. teehee!

As a gift to myself, I went crazy at the yarn shop, we had a little evening of knitting with friends which was very enjoyable as there were cookies too. teehee! I bought some lovely alpaca/wool to knit myself a SWEATER!!! This is not a raglan either, (it IS a raglan, oops!) it will be a true sweater with pieces to sew up after, a zipper to install in the front and all. I believe Veronik will need to give me my first sweater finishing lesson then. (Right V. you won't let me stuck all by myself?) So I have been swatching since we got home last night, I think I should accept that by now I knit loose. I am posting a picture of the swatch because I am actually making a swatch for once, this is something I hope to do more in the new year. If I post the swatches it'll prove that I did make them, just a way to justify myself to you all. LOL!

In my bag a few balls of Regia hoped in their also, I will even knit myself some silk socks, ain't that just fancy or what? I want to get some short dpn's before starting then socks will hopefully because my travelling project, we sometimes travel for our when we work for Walmart inventories and we all need socks. ;)

hugs, may you be surrounded with friends and family tonight and have the merriest of Christmas! :)

Youpiiii, good job, Jo! although now Carl's going to want you to drive and that cuts into knitting time, eh? ;-) Seriously, that's really a great present, to teach you how to drive again. Have a wonderful holiday with your family! Posted by: Lee Ann at December 24, 2004 11:30 AM
I perfectly understand what you said about learning to drive. I got my license more than a year ago. But I was a mature student (38 y/o!!!) and I always had the idea that I may not be able to pass the test at all. 30 mph? 25 was already like flying to me then! Yet, somehow, everything just became like part of me suddenly and I did pass the test. So, don't worry ... you'll get your own license in 2005. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas, Jo! You and you family enjoy the holidays, and go for another drive as long as there's no new snow... ;-) Posted by: Mona at December 24, 2004 09:23 PM
I have taken lessons about ten years ago to drive and even had a learner's permit but I wasn't ready at that time. Oh my god, me too! I don't have a boyfriend or husband to teach me how to drive now though :( You know, the last time I drove (with my now-ex boyfriend), I bumped into Pascale Bussières' car. Eeek!
