more of the same

Our little one still has the sickies, we met with a nurse yesterday and at least he is dehydrated. Still in the evening he was sick a few times. Today is the fourth day and we are just eager that he gets better soon.

Thought I'd show off my little achy breaky heart, my knit in center stitch didn't come out too good! LOL! I used this link to learn how to knit 3 times into a stitch. I always said I had a special talent for not understanding to simplest of things. I guess this is one of them. The heart was done in a flash unfortunately, it just came out funny.

Zoe's skating lessons will be down to once a week after friday, I am so sad. :( She LOVES her lessons but they are starting to prepare the final show and need the ice for kids to learn there special numbers. It's sad because I paid for the kids to have lessons twice a week but can't do anything about it. Worst, my mom will have to bring both kids to the lesson on wednesdays but Lucas will have to sit and watch Zoe's hour-long lesson. It's not fair for him, for my mom and to us. It means I will never see Zoe skate anymore until her final show. :( It means no more badges eitehr and I'm sure Zoe could have gotten the 4th one but oh well, that's more about me than her. ;) The head coach did joke that Lucas needs a solo number, since he never wants to skate with the toddlers but still it's just unfortunate that only a few weeks ago (like 3-4 weeks) I paid for him to get 2 lessons per week and now he has to only skate once a week. How is he suppose to improve? It saddens me just becuase I know how much the kids love to skate.

Since Lucas has been feeling so bad I decided to get a smile out of him and asked him if he would like knitted slippers from mom. He smiled and chose Bernat Denim as his yarn of choice (honey, you are sure you don't prefer the warm sooooft woooool yarn instead?) and started knitting the wrong size of mocassin. Sheesh! I'm such on a roll these days. LOL! Frogged it and started over, I hope he likes them in the end. ;)

There are so many projects I want to start, it's like I can't knit fast enough to do everything I want. I have 8-9 balls of Kureyon left from my little Toronto vacation back in november. Maybe I should knit a raglan sweater for Zoe, she'd LOOOOVE it and think I'm the bestest mommy ever for a day or two! ;) Maybe I should knit some Fuzzy Feet for myself with some of it or... or... or... so many ideas, so little time to knit.

Well back to knitting while I'm home.

p/s: I've been looking for knitted messenger bag patterns, anyone seen any a part from the Mercury?

Your heart looks fine - just thread some funky yarn/ribbon up the middle and call it a design element! Also - if you paid for 2 lessons a week, and they're only getting one, don't you think you're up for a refund? Esp. for Lucas? Seems odd to me... Posted by: melissa at February 19, 2004 12:10 PM
Glad to hear that Lucas is better but sad to hear about the skating. I hope the rink makes it up to you...somehow. Have you seen the Monk's Travel Satchel from Folk Bags--IK had the free pattern on the web? It reminded me of a messenger bag. http://www.interweave.com/knit/books/files/FolkBagsExcerpt.pdf Posted by: Kathleen at February 20, 2004 07:48 AM
