I did jokingly reassure the big boss that if we were in Cornwall and the kids were sick, I wouldn't leave on the spot to go take care of them, he laughed. Last night I made him laugh a few times and I am glad I did. I even learned that he is younger than both Carl and I. That was quite a shocker, he seems older and he gets the respect of the people he works with. It is weird to know he's younger but he's responsible and hey, he's my boss so I treat him with respect and try to be polite at all times. LOL!
I did learn that I got the minimum at work at least once last week, 10K/hour. I said that next time I hit the 10 000$ per hour I would like a bell to be rng or something, so that I know. He thought that was pretty funny, I was thinking like what they do at the stock market when they start the day. Hey, I deserve special treatment right? ;) Carl got to learn that he is doing very well in his new section, he is counting risers (which is the top shelf of every aisle), he has to carry a ladder all day long. I did get some reassurance that I am doing good, the max someone in my section can count is 12-13K/hour. It was nice to get a little up to date on our work, you usually only hear when bad things happen but not when you are doing well.
Back to Lucas, once we finally got home (an hour later) he was sleeping peacefully, he looked like a little angel. It was heart-wrenching. He was probably so weak from being sick, he just had to recuperate. Late in the night Carl got up to give him some juice (we got a special rehydrating recipe from the nurse on call), Lucas couldn't hold it down again. :( This morning he work up all happy and hungry, OYE! There's not much you can give him a part from the BRAT (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) menu. He didn't touch the applesauce and toast since he was sick from it the night before. Carl just went to see the pharmacist with Lucas and hopefully we'll get a miracle answer, poor kid is sick from every end possible. It's hard to see him hurting like that, I am happy that we are not on the road while this is happening though. At least he knows we are here for him.
Now can he just get back to health by tomorrow, his birthday? Sigh.... he just has to be ok to eat cake, how can you not eat cake on your 3rd birthday?
