Ottawa for the week!

I just updated my desktop's image, I like to change it about every month so it's not too boring. On the Hallmark website I downloaded an interactive desktop calendar, very cute and the kids will love it. Look under new & notable, it's an easy thing to set up and fun to discover too. You will need an up to date flash player, your desktop will then become alive with the adventure of a teddy bear. LOL!

While I was gome I noticed a big event happened in my little blogging life, I have been added to the famous Wendy links. For me, Wendy is a reference, an inspiration for knitting and blogging. Her talent and projects are mind blowing and I love to see them, she progresses so quickly that it makes me really jealous. lol! So in honor of this, I present to you my current KNITTING project!!! No, it won't be a 12 color fair isle sweater but at least I did knit this weekend.

I proudly present the Easy Peasy cardigan, done in garter stitch so very far from Wendy's creations but it will be the perfect on the road mindless knitting project for me. Now that I work, I feel lucky enough to encourage the designers I like. I am using Bernat denimstyle yarn for both kids sweaters. The yarn is pretty soft with it's 30% cotton combined to acrylic. The kids chose their own colors (with a little help from me!) LOL! Please note the cute baby in the picture is NOT mine! LOL! Gregory is Theresa's son (the sweater's designer), he was born 8 weeks early but keeps on growing strong now weighing 7lb at 6 weeks old!!!

To answer a question from my previous entry. What does Jo do? LOL! I am an auditor, what does an auditor do? It counts, everything and anything, all day long! We have a calculator-like computer hanging from a belt and punch in numbers in it, also we wear a finger laser to scan products upc's. The finger lasers and easier to use and quicker as they are smaller than the laser guns. The company is called RGIS and have more than 500 chapters in the world. Last year some people in my local team helped train the people for a branch in France. You can even see a promotional video of the company (you know for those really bored right now!) LOL! We work on a special team that inventories all the Walmarts of Eastern Canada. We are a core team of 40 people and at every store we get a similar number of people to support us and count clothing and other areas. Each core member has a specified job, I was in pharmacy until I transferred to auto parts and gardenning this week. This will be my area of expertise for the next 5 months. LOL! We get hotel rooms and food paid from monday to thursday and work on average in 3 stores a week. We get 3 day weekends which is perfectly fine with me! LOL! The kids are loving their time with grandma and we are all adjusting well in this new adventure.

Wishing you all a safe and fun new week! See you next weekend.
hugs,

Hey, Jo! I'm so glad your job is working out. That's fantastic. I agree about Wendy, she's an amazing inspiration to other knitters. Also, I moved my blog, so you might want to update my address from http://lisa-knits.diaryland.com to the new one. :) Congratulations again on the job going so well! That baby picture is just soooo cute. I'm glad you're enjoying your job, too, and all this travel is exciting! I'm jealous of your trips to Tim Hortons, though. :) Posted by: alison at January 28, 2004 04:41 AM
Hi Jo! I'm glad you are enjoying your job and that you and your kids are able to adjust to this new opportunity. I hope you still have enough time to enjoy your knitting! Posted by: gwen at January 29, 2004 03:40 PM
Hi Jo. What a wonderful little sweater! Catching up on your site encourages me to continue my current project which is a small sweater for my niece in Bernat Heather Pink. She is due in 2 weeks! (This is the same pattern I am addicted to and have knit 3 times before already so it's pretty mindless) Posted by: Milly at February 2, 2004 11:07 AM
