circus fun!

Last night was a VERY special evening, for a few days the kids were counting down each night before that particular evening. What was so special about it? We were going to the circus, the Super Circus in fact. Hey, if they call it Super it must be really good, right? I don't want to hear about animal exploitation or anything about that. We went because we received 4 tickets that were worth around 160$ together and this was an outing that we could never afford to go at. We were seated in the red section, maybe 15 rows from the very first row at ground level and in the middle of the scene. Nobody had better seats I tell ya. ;) My mom, the kids and I, spent a terrific evening, I took my mom along instead of dh beause she was so excited for the kids to see the circus. When I got the call we'd get tickets from a friend, I thought we'd have 2, he then added that nope, we'd get FOUR tickets. By that time my mom was crying and said how blessed we were for having good friends think of us to share said tickets. If you read back in my entries you'll see we've been having a tough few weeks and Christmas didn't seem like it would be happy for us. Things change in a mysterious way. Last night, we forgot about everything for the next 2 hours and lived magic. We saw motocycles on wires, trapeze acts, clowns, horses, dogs, elephants, tigers and Cesar the big lion, also Caillou, who was the main attraction for many kids. ;) Two hours was a loooong show but both kids did very well, thankfully they had a nap in the afternoon, the show started at 7pm and by the time we got home it was past 10pm. Luckily the kids were in hurry to go to sleep. ;) I was looking at the seats we had and truely felt blessed, I also noticed the seats that were waaaaaay up in the back and I know that the kids there lived a magical evening too. There's one thing I'll always remember from that show though, when there was two motorcycles in a metal cage ball, Lucas said WOW! Both my mom and I looked at each other and went UH OH! ROFL! ;)

I forgot to share a little story that happened on Christmas day. A car parked in front of our house so being curious we check who is in it. Well..... uh.... it's a guy with a big red coat. A lady gets out of the car and helps the man to put on his beard and hat. Well by then we're telling the kids to come see in the window. Santa's in front of the house!!! We open our door and the kids scream Merry Christmas SANTAAAAAAAAA!!! The guy looks up and ho ho ho! The lady cracked up, she thought it was hillarious, the guy was totally unprepared to see the kids but played along. Our kids thought this was just the greatest to see Santa parked in front of our house. We told them he probably was going to brunch with some very special kids. I think that Santa will be telling that story of kids waving at him for a while. It was just the cutest thing that could have happened on that special day. :)

Oh oh oh, someone's been working on her new project and hasn't blogged about it yet. Guess I just might finish the year with a BANG! after all. I am knitting my very first sweater ever. :) I am terrified by sweaters so hopefully this will help me change my mind about them. ;) The yarn was a gift from my mom, I've been talking about a certain pattern for a while and on boxing day I went to choose the color I wanted. It's really nice since the sweater knits up quickly on a 3 stitch per inch gauge. The color I bought is called Storm Hues, not sure it's a good thing! LOL! ;) The pattern was created by Kate and was featured in the very first issue of Knitty. The pattern is named TopSecret sweater, which is why I haven't posted about it sooner, shhhhhh it's the 'top secret sweater'! LOL! ;)

So maybe from now on I'll work on little charity projects and treat myself to nice sweaters or similar projects. After all *I* deserve it. Why do I keep on thinking yarn is too expensive, if I knit for myself a project I like then it's not too expensive, right? ;)

Hugs, hoping you are all having safe and truely memorable holiday. :)
