P, for Party!

New Year's eve! woohoo!!!!! A new year is about to start and I've already started a list of things I want to accomplish in the new year! :)

1- read one book a month, I can't remember the last time I read a whole book! I already have a book waiting for me to read. So tomorrow I'll start it. Then I might look up the books that were read in Oprah's book club. I'm pretty sure I'd find a book I'd like

2- knit a shawl for myself and not just any shawl. This one: Candle Flame shawl :) I think it's simply gorgeous! :)

3- think of myself for once! I've been living to please others for so long it ain't funny. This year is MINE!

4- I'll think of more I'm sure. LOL!

I guess I should post something at the top of my website similar to: if you are a parent and close friend please read this diary at your own risk! This is a place where I vent out. Where I let the steam out of my head. Doesn't mean I always feel like the way I write, sometimes just writing down what bothers me makes me feel all better. I am not going to feel sorry for someone who blames me if they never call. Friendship is more than just blamming stuff on the other person all the time. Some friendship survive over the years and some don't. I don't care anymore!

That said, today I feel great! LOL! :) I got to chat with Theresa twice in two days, haven't had that happenened for the past few months, so I feel lucky! ;) Theresa is like my knitting mentor, if I have a question I run over to ask her. She knows it all! LOL! Ok she'll say she doesn't but she knew the answers to all of my questions. ;)

We are starting a new knit-along with Theresa, a way to learn different stitches and then we'll make a block. This time not felted though 'cause my felting block didn't go as planned! ;) Guess I bought the wrong wool, at least I reused it to knit the soaker, so it wasn't lost. Ok, Ive been really enjoying knitting I think just about everyone knows it by now! ;) I REALLY like it, it's calming, exciting, frustrating (but in a good way!) LOL!

I'm going to work on a few socks in the next day and maybe make a dishcloth or two also. I really like the old knitted dishcloths alot and we just never have too many of them, right? ;) Here's the pattern I like: Grandmother's Favorite You can use these to wash, dishes, body, wipe baby's butt. Whatever you feel like! :) I like to male them in variegated colors!

Tonight we will watch Dick Clark's show as usual, look at the ball light up for the new year and then go to sleep! LOL! It's falling some ice rain outside so can't really go out, we should at least go buy some food though. The grocery stores will be closed for the next two days. Ugh! How bored we will be with no shopping to be done! LOL! I feel like eating pasta tonight, wil I win? ;)

hugs to all may the new year bring you happiness, health and just plain old good times to cherish! :)

Knit out!

p/s: working on my website, I will include the link to my knitting diary shortly! :)
