I started knitting my 1st sock!!!!!! Well I started last night and it's going slowly but well! :) I am so happy about this project. In a way when I started knitting I hoped that one day I'd be good enough to knit a few pairs of socks. Just casting on this first sock made me "guiddy"(spelled wrong!). I keep thinking "oh my God! I'm knitting a sock!" lol! I know it's nothing for just about anyone on the Earth but it's a HUGE thing for me! :)
So my socks will be red, not firetruck red, more of a muted color. They are 80%wool and 20%nylon, the yarn is from Briggs&Little and the pattern is from the same company. I found it online and hopefully once finished the socks will fit. My mom hopes they'll be too tight on me and Carl hopes they'll be too loose. LOL!
Being that I'm doing a ribbed leg, this part is taking forever to do. So I might make a pair of kid socks after this sock and before knitted the second one. We'll see. I hope I can afford to buy some sock yarn soon and try that. This yarn I'm using is pretty thick and rough, knitting a thin, fine yarn might be fun. :)
Dh went for a job interview today, it's for a company that packs food for the military survival kits. Pretty neat, if you ask me! Dh said that it's an easy job and after being a special team mover for a moving company that dealt with pianos and HEAVY stuff, an apprentice butcher and lifting 400lb meat parts, this job would be a break for him! LOL! He'd be driving a forklift and lifting LIGHT boxes all day. The hours 7am-3pm would be very nice and the work takes 14minutes to get at by bus from home. The pay is decent so now I'll we have to wait for is them to call back! ;) When he 1st called them this morning to inquire about the job they said they had an opening starting January, they then called an hour later saying they'd like to meet him today, there's a job he could be qualified for right now. On the way home after the interview he even got a ride from the boss who lives like 5 streets away! LOL! This would be a great job. Dh saw people going in and right out of the interview room and he stayed a good 15-20 minutes in there and met a few supervisors while touring the plant. They didn't make every tour the place. Oh how I hope he gets the job..... I hate getting my hopes up to quickly though. On the other hand.... we have MAJOR bills that need to be paid. I hate having to deal with calls from credit card companies.
I got the bill from when Lucas and I took the ambulance to the hospital back in October. Next time we are taking the taxi! :P Well, no, I wouldn't have changed anything as going by ambulance we did get to meet with doctors quicker than those who came by there own means of transport. I haven't paid the bill last month so I should at least pay something on it this month! I'm going to try to call them soon and say that I'll pay half this month and hopefully half next year! LOL! Next year being next month! ;) Hopefully they'll be ok with it, there interest rate is REALLY low. I sure would like to have such a low interest rate on my main credit card.
Lucas is sleeping in Zoe's beatle car bed tonight, he's so cute, so small in it too. :) Hopefully he'll sleep well and only come bother mommy around 7am tomorrow morning! teehee! I can dream! ;)
hugs to all.
maybe I can squeeze in one last row of knitting on my sock before going to bed. :)
