T, for Trees!

Well we didn't go to the Christmas parade today BUT I did something that made my day anyways! ;) I make my own knitting needles!!!!!!! Ok, so all you non-knitters, you might not care but hey, small things make me happy! ;) I used a dowel and cut it to the size I wanted, sharpened each needle in a pencil sharpener. Sanded them well and TADA, new needles! They are size 6,5mm/10,5US. I'm not used to that big a size but I like it, knitting goes faster on bigger needles. I still have two more dowels to cut up but I've been pretty busy and might not have time before Christmas to make the other needles.

How can I be THAT busy you ask? Well... we are off to sell "real" Christmas trees for the next 6 weeks. We (dh, the 2 kids and I) will be living in a motorised camping trailer (think 20-24') and dh will be selling the trees. Zoe will probably be his lil'helper and she'll love the outdoors. Lucas, I hope will sleep his nights well and be calm in the day. It'll be hard to keep the kids busy and out of the way but hopefully, some of you will pray for us! ;)

This adventure sure is crazy! LOL! I warned dh that I'll be shacking the 1st night away from the computer! ;) He told me there's a Tim Horton's near the trailer, so I'll be loading up on coffee and donuts often! LOL!

Dh is sleeping in the trailer tonight and comes home tomorrow. They already had someone scheduled at the trailer for tomorrow, this same guy should work thursday too. That will give us a chance to go home to SHOWER!!!!!!! LOL! I'm so lucky if we do come home on thursday 'cause that's the day of my crafting class too! :) I'd like for the kids to go to daycare if we can on thursday, they too, need to see their own little friends. We will most likely miss the daycare's "staff party", the board meeting and the Christmas party so if the kids can at least go to daycare a few times that would make me happy.

I'm not sure after that when we will be coming back home, it's not that far but since we don't have a car we always have to wait for a ride. It is more than 2 hours away by public transport and I'm not going to try that with two kids in tow. His boss seems well organised though and people will be checking up on us every day. We will be accross the street from a supermarket, a grocery store, a drugstore. So I'm feeling confident that we should survive! LOL! Also accross the street will be a park, so kids will be going there often. Oh how can I forget, there's a dollar store too! I'll be getting our crafting supplies there and hope that the park, crafts and running around the christmas trees will be enough to keep the kids busy.

I'm actually getting excited about this but ask Tori if I was at 1st? LOL! You should've seen me when I learned about it though! OYE! I was so scared, I even cried when dh told me about this "opportunity", as if this should be fun? Oh dear!

Knitting: I've started my own hat today, red and black woolen yarn, it's look like tweed. It looks really nice. I'm still half way into the dishcloth I started yesterday. Dh will be working on his own scarf while at the trailer and I'll bring his unfinished hat to work on it too. I think that should keep me busy for a few days! ;) Then I'll NEED to come back to town to buy more yarn! ;)

p/s: I'll miss the computer/diary/online friends SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! Hopefully I'll get ahead in my knitting though! ;)

hugs to all and while I'm away: be safe, nice and know that you are loved!!!

Hey Crystal, I'll miss our chats! Hope you'll come back from your trip safely. I miss ya chica, so many things I had to tell you. ACK!

byyyyyyyyyyye, talk to you all when I come baaaaaaack. I'm so nervous!!!!

pp/s: buy a real christmas tree this year, ok? Encourage those who sleep in the little trailers for the next 6 weeks just to put food on their tables. It's not easy work and it doesn't pay that much but we all do what we can for our families. :)

ppp/s: we might sell knitted dishcloths too! LOL! Yes, that is a joke! ;)

HUGS!
